Alison McInnes, Liberal Democrat Local Government spokesperson and Aberdeenshire MSP has congratulated the Liberal Democrat-led Aberdeenshire Council for being the best large council to work for in Britain.

Aberdeenshire Council finished 12th in the Times’ “Best Council to Work For” competition, the only Scottish authority to make it into the top 25. When compared with other local authorities of a similar size in the competition, Aberdeenshire Council came out on top.

Commenting, Mrs McInnes said:

“I am delighted that this Liberal Democrat-led council has beaten off competition from around the United Kingdom for the accolade of best large council to work for.

“I am confident that this has much to do with the council’s commitment to decentralisation and staff empowerment. I’d like to congratulate the team in Aberdeenshire and wish all the staff continued satisfaction in their jobs.”
