Change drinking habits, or risk future health of nation – Finnie

5.33.38pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 20th Jul 2010

Commenting on the NHS Scotland report into the cost of alcohol, Liberal Democrat Health spokesperson Ross Finnie MSP said:

“These reports confirm that we Scots drink more than others in the rest of the UK.

“Unless we change our drinking habits, the future health of the nation is at risk.

“We are clear that selling alcohol at below cost prices must end.

“Bringing about the necessary cultural change will mean putting party politics aside, so I’m looking forward to discussing the best way forward with the Health Secretary and the other parties on Wednesday.”
