Stirling East Council by-election 30 October 2025

A council by-election is called after the resignation of the conservative incumbent.

Meet Liberal Democrat candidate William Galloway, a Stirling resident.

William Galloway advocates for a more transparent approach to Stirling Council's decision-making and has a plan to address the affordable housing and social care crises.

Stirling East has elected a Lib Dem councillor before, and the Lib Dems are the only major party consistently making progress in by-elections across Scotland.

Working closely with residents, William believes we can build a safer community for all with good access to libraries and sports facilities.

William will prioritise access to NHS dentistry, local GPs and mental health services to resolve the unacceptable long waiting lists.

Local schools are underfunded. Without increased support, there are growing problems with behaviour among pupils. William will work to improve additional support needs for children.

Stirling and Clacks Scottish Liberal Democrats held their AGM last Friday.27-11-2015 at Smith Art Gallery and Museum Stirling. A warm welcome was given to new members. After the formal part of the AGM, Robert Brown gave us a talk about the values of Liberal Democrats and how it was important to keep communities in the heart of the Political process rather than the centralisation of the Scottish Government.
